| It's Been A Long Time
It's been a long time since I updated my blog last time. This website is blocked in China so that I was not able to get on. I think I will have to stop writing what's going on. If any of you want to know the updates, please email me and I will send you my newsletters.
I am in the US now until Aug. 30th. On this last blog, I want to let you all know that things are going well with me, the Club, and the school. We just started a training for the second generation of leadership for the Club on July 28th so leaders can be ready when we multiply again. The school is up running now. 5 students have signed up for the next semester. We didn't have much time to advertise it during the summer vacation because teachers had some trainings. Please p for a music teacher and a math teacher and ask Father for more students.
Blessings on all of you! | | |
| Got License For the School Just want you all to know that I got the license for the school today. So what we are doing is legal! I had to register it as a company with "Child Care" under the business scope. Child Care in China includes kindergarten and elementary school meaning that we have more options as an education consulting company. The only problem now is the bank part but I know it will be taken care of later. Two more students wanted to come but I thought it's better for them to come next semester so we'll have at least two more students in September. Since now we are legal, we can advertise more! More and more people are coming to visit the school so the word will be spread out. Some of them want to send their kids over, others want to open their own. Whichever, it's good for the kingdom! I am more than happy to share with them the journey I have gone through so that they don't have to repeat what didn't work. A non-C teacher came to the school this morning and couldn't help commenting what we are doing. I didn't plan to mention anything about my Father yet since i didn't know him at all. However, he mentioned that he heard it was run by Cs. Then I started sharing with him. He said that only C people would do something like that --- making money is not the purpose. I was very encouraged to hear a non-C say that. | | |
| Two New Memembers We had two new comers (a guy and a girl) this morning when we worshiped Him together. Their C teacher brought them over to fellowship and they both made the decision to become followers of Him. PTL! He is at work! Although we just multiplied Sunday group, there were still 14 people at my place this morning and the other group went well, too. I will go to the other group next week. | | |
| Amazing Retreat 40 of us had a retreat last weekend. It was cloudy when we left CD. We started worshiping right away after we got there and the sun came out after we worshiped. It was really amazing! Although the sun was out, the temprature was not high. 7 new ones got bathed in a river the next day, amazingly, none of them caught a cold because of the cold water. The one who already had a cold recovered after she took the bath. We came back on Sunday afternoon and it started raining on Monday morning and the temprature dropped 5 °C. It's very cold today and the temprature will remain low for the next ten days. The weather is weird in China. Some places are having drought and others are having flood, still others are even snowing. P that people would think about life and find Him. | | |
| The First Month of School Was Successful Time flies! Cannot believe a month has passed since the school first started. PTL that it went successfully! If I tell you that the wild boy has become normal, will you believe it? You must think I am kidding. I am not. We experienced the power of p*ers again! I praise the Ld that the boy's parents are willing to work with us. The mom decided to cancel something from her schedule to be more committed to training her son. She took two days off and spent some quality time (four days altogether including the weekend) with her son who changed dramatically this week. He communicates well now and follows the rules. He still cannot sit straight in class but he stopped making noises. I found out that his learning style is different from the rest of the class. Chinese teachers like students whose learning style is visual or auditory but this boy's learning style is kinesthetic, which is considered distractive. I was very surprised to find that he actually remembered quite a lot of what I have taught while he was busy doing his own thing. We (teachers who were in the classroom learning Phonics English and the students) gave him a big applause when he sounded almost all the phonograms. He could write some of them as well. He is growing because of the love and support he is getting from the school. Besides, he started eating lunch (he was too busy playing to eat lunch in the first three weeks). He hardly ever eats vegetables. Today, I asked him which vegetable he would love to eat. He said, "I don't like vegetables." I said, "My question was 'WHICH vegetable do you want?' I will help you get it." Then he pointed cucumbers. Hooray!! He finally started eating some vegetables. He has learned that at this school, when teachers say something, he'd better obey 'cos we were not going to compromise. We were also very encouraged when he took the initiative to p in front of all the teachers and students before we started the day. He did it two days in a row! The other students are doing well. They were finally willing to play with the boy. Although they didn't want to be with him in the beginning, each of them p*ed for him when they led the p*er in the morning. The boy didn't want to play with them either because he was used to being isolated due to his parents' busy schedule. Yesterday, I was very glad to hear him say "I want to play with them". There is love and acceptance among the students now. We, as teachers, learn a lot when we deal with practical problems. I am reading two books right now which are very helpful: Shepherding A Child's Heart and Train Up A Child. One of the teachers said that she would love her son to come in September since it's SO amazing to see the boy's change! P that we will have more students next semester and Father will also prepare a math teacher. Teaching 15 hours a week plus management and my Club is really too much for me. P that He will give me wisdom to prioritize and balance! | | |
